Announcements:
I've sent home a note about the Christmas party. We'll be having a breakfast and a craft, and I'd love to have parents join in to help do the craft and hand out breakfast. It should be in the Friday folder. Our spelling test and spelling bee will be on Tuesday of next week. Reading: One of the most difficult skills to pin down when reading informational books is finding the main idea and its supporting details. We worked on it all this week, and the kids did a pretty good job. We'll be circling back around to it from time to time as the year goes on. Writing: The kids are about halfway through writing their persuasive essays, where they will be trying to convince the principal to make a variety of changes through the school. They're shaping up pretty well, so be on the lookout. Math: Multiplication is finally behind us! Well, not really, because we're starting division. Being opposites, we'll be using a lot of our multiplication knowledge to understand and do division. Social Studies: There's a whole new unit for us now, and it's economics. This week we learned the basic idea of what an economy is and what the three big questions every economy is concerned with. See if they know what those questions are! Comments are closed.
