Announcements:
We've finally had sort of a full week, and we made some good progress! Things being back to normal means we can get back to learning at full speed. Valentine's Day: I sent home information in the Friday Folder about our party, but feel free to email me any questions you might have. Reading: To get back in the swing of things, the class went back to a familiar, though still very important, skill for reading this week. The kids read their books and were looking specifically for cause and effect, a skill imperative to reading and comprehending. Writing: The opinion papers we started last month are shaping up nicely. We used this week to write an introduction and we've started the process of revision, review, and publishing. Math: Algebra has been the focus this week, with the aim of making the kids better solvers of word problems. Science: Our energy unit is coming to a close with light energy, which we finished this week. Next week the kids will take a big end of unit test together with a partner. Social Studies: Economics and economic choices were the focus this week. The kids learned that scarcity is what drives and economy and learned about how and why that happens and what it means for them. Comments are closed.
