Announcements: Conference times went home today in Friday Folders. If you sent in a slip but didn't get a time, get in touch with me and I will send you your time. The book fair is next week, and our time is Tuesday. It will be open during conferences. We will be doing Halloween parties and activities on November 1st. It's a half day, and the district has decided to do costumes and parties on that day. I will be sending out several reminders as we get closer to Halloween. Reading: This was our first real week of reading groups, and they went very well. The kids practiced using metacognition again, and they will be ready to move on to our next skill, schema. Writing: Rough drafts are coming together on our first narrative story, where we are learning about story elements and publishing our writing. Math: Subtraction was our focus this week in math, and we'll be having a quiz on tuesday. Look for a practice test to come home on Monday! Science: The kids are still investigating magnetism, specifically looking at magnetic fields and how they interact. Social Studies: We finished our landform unit this week, and will be looking at human made landmarks of the United States next week. Comments are closed.
