Announcements:
Students in my class will be going to science with Mrs. Leach from now on, ask them what they've been doing! We have a math test on Friday. The kids should have a study guide/practice test in their Friday Folder. Reading: One of the hardest skills a good reader must learn is how to make an inference. This week, the kids learned how to take clues from a book and combine them with their schema to learn something that the author might not tell them. Writing: Before we start our new writing piece next week, the class has been learning how to structure a paragraph. Math: I can officially declare our class masters of multiplication! The kids did a really good job this week learning and practicing 2x2 digit multiplication. Next week we will tackle putting those skills to use in word problems. Social Studies: The Great Lakes are a wonderful natural resource, and we learned some basic facts about them this week before diving into what makes the Great Lakes Region special next week.
